OKS 9241 - Anti-Seize Spray

OKS 9241 is a high-temperature screw-paste for preventing corrosion, seizing and binding

Anti-Seize Spray

Areas of applications

  • For threaded connections and sliding surfaces of all kinds exposed to high temperatures, such as threaded joints on turbines, gas generators, exhaust pipes, engine heads, steam lines etc.
  • As a lubricant for valve spindles on steam lines.
  • As a thread lubricant for threaded connections exposed to vibratory loads.
  • As a lubricant for heavy duty electrical connections.
  • As a high pressure lubricant for rack and pinion arrangements exposed to marine atmosphere, submerged in water/sea-water.

Advantages and benefits

  • Allows reliable, non-destructive dismantling even after longer operating periods under high operating and ambient temperatures.
  • The lubricant properties of the compound provide an optimum balance between pretension and tightening torque.
  • Averts un-necessary stress build up in the threaded connection, which can lead to snapping after exposed to vibratory loads.

Technical specifications

  • Density (27 °C): 0.95 - 1.00 g/cc
  • Un-worked penetration - ASTM D 217 - Unit: 0.1 mm (25 °C): 310 - 340

Applications

Clean the surface thoroughly, preferably with OKS 2610/ OKS 92610/ OKS 2611 universal cleaners to remove soiling as well as any lubricant residues. Shake the spray can well so that the movement of the steel ball inside is heard clearly. Shake for at least half a minute when the can is not is use for quiet long time. For intermittent use in one operation, shaking for a few seconds is enough.Spray from a distance of about 15-20 cms on the cleaned surface to give a thin, even coating (the material will dry off in a few seconds, leaving a dry coating of the compound). After use, turn the can upside down and spray till only the propellant gas starts coming out. This will help in cleaning the dip tube and the valve actuator, preventing them from choking.OKS 9240 is the paste form of this product.
